Matthew 19
Peshitta Holy Bible Translated Par ▾
1And so it was when Yeshua had finished these sayings, he picked up from Galilee, and he came to the borders of Judea to the other side of the Jordan. 2And great crowds came after him and he healed them there.

3And the Pharisees came to him and they were testing him, and they were saying, “Is it legal for a man to divorce his wife for any cause?” 4But he answered and said to them, “Have you not read that he who made from the beginning, made them male and female?” 5And he said, “Therefore a man shall leave his father and his mother and shall cleave to his wife and the two of them shall be one flesh.” 6“Therefore they were not two, but one flesh. The things therefore that God has united let not a man separate.” 7They were saying to him, “Why therefore did Moses command to give a writing of divorce and to send her away?” 8He said to them, “Moses, confronting the callousness of your heart, let you divorce your wives, but from the beginning it was not so.” 9But I say to you, “Whoever divorces his wife apart from adultery and will take another, commits adultery, and whoever will take her who is divorced commits adultery.”

10His disciples were saying to him, “If the accusations are thus between a man and a wife, it is not expedient to take a wife.” 11But he said to them, “Not every man can receive this saying, except he to whom it is given.” 12“For there are eunuchs who were born so from their mother's womb and there are eunuchs who became eunuchs by men and there are those who have made themselves eunuchs for the cause of the Kingdom of Heaven. Whoever can receive it let him receive it.”

13And they brought children to him that he might lay his hand upon them and pray, and his disciples rebuked them. 14But Yeshua said to them, “Let the children come to me and do not forbid them, for the Kingdom of Heaven belongs to such as these.” 15And he laid his hand upon them and went on from there.

16And one came near and said to him, “Good teacher, what good thing shall I do that I may have eternal life?” 17But he said to him, “Why do you call me good? There is none good except God alone. But if you want to enter life, keep the commandments.” 18He said to him, “Which ones?” But Yeshua said to him, “You shall not murder, You shall not commit adultery, You shall not steal, You shall not testify falsely.” 19“Honor your father and your mother”, and “You shall love your neighbor as yourself.” 20That young man said to him, “I have kept all these from my childhood; what am I lacking?” 21Yeshua said to him, “If you want to be perfect, go sell your possessions and give to the poor and you will have treasure in Heaven, and come after me.” 22But that young man heard this saying and he went away, as it was grievous to him, for he had many possessions.

23But Yeshua said to his disciples, “Amen, I say to you, that it is difficult for a rich man to enter the Kingdom of Heaven.” 24“And again I say to you that it is easier for a camel to enter the eye of a needle than for a rich man to enter the Kingdom of God.” 25But the disciples when they heard, they were greatly amazed and they were saying, “Who then can have life?” 26Yeshua gazed at them and he said to them, “This is impossible with the children of men, but everything is possible with God.”

27Then Kaypha answered and said to him, “Behold, we have left everything and we have come after you. What then will happen to us?” 28Yeshua said to them, “Surely, I say to you who have come after me, in The New World when The Son of Man sits on the throne of his glory, you also will sit on twelve thrones and will judge the twelve Tribes of Israel.” 29“And every man who leaves a house or a brother or sister or father or mother or wife or children or towns for my name's sake, each will receive a hundredfold and will inherit eternal life. 30But many are first who will be last and the last ones will be the first.”
